Hotel Gajeta

This is the perfect hotel. Spacious, Airy, Immaculately clean rooms. Our room overlooked the bay of Gaeta. We could hear the Italian and the US National Anthems play each morning, so charming and something we will miss dearly. Excellent breakfast, at much as you like, from fruits and cereals to full bacon and eggs and a delicious variety of pastries, the best coffees of the day, on a balcony overlooking the water! Looked forward to friendly greetings from the staff each morning. We walked everyday on the walkway along the bay to visit churches, restaurants and the Castle, all with spectacular views. In the other direction we walked to the shopping area of town and an easy and beautiful walk uphill to the Sanctuary of Montagna Spaccata and afterwards, a nearby cafe which overlooked the beaches, for a Spritz with olives and potato chips! We could walk to anywhere in town or visit the Tabacchi shop next to the hotel for bus tickets (or a taxi) and a quick ride to Formia train station for a day trip to Naples or anywhere else in Italy. The perfect peaceful town , a beautiful hotel with every convenience, so reasonably priced, with a staff that was so genuine and who aimed to please. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you Hotel Gaeta!

We had lunch here with a group, the staff were nice and the food was good. We were able to order off the menu but I'm not sure if it was because we were with a group or if they will allow that normally. My eldest son doesn't eat seafood and most of the menu was seafood based, but they accommodated him making gnocci with tomato and also grilled sausages so he was very happy. We sat outside on the terrace which was nice although there is a fair amount of traffic passing as it is situated along a main road. The restaurant inside is surprisingly large with a few different seating areas. The bathrooms were clean.

Amazing hotel, perfect location, our room was spacious, clean! and had a great view. We had a terrace where you could sit out in an evening. About 10 minutes walk to the sandy beach, and 5 mins walk the other way to all the bars and restaurants. This is our new place to stay when we are over in Italy for the summer. I will be going back this summer!

Best hospitality I’ve received in ALL of Italy. On the way to the hotel I left my bag on the train and the hotel staff kindly helped me to try and get it back. After seeing how upset I was they did all they could to help with the situation including complimentary drinks to try and help my calm down. Very kind and compassionate people with a beautiful hotel and great views. Very close to everything and with many things to do. Everything is very clean and nice. 10/10 would recommend.

This is the second time we've stayed at Hotel Gajeta. Both times, this hotel and it's staff have been wonderful. The staff speaks fluent English. We made our group reservations by email. Despite our schedule fluctuating and us adjusting the reservations a few times, there were no problems. They were very easy going. Upon arrival, checking in was smooth. The front desk attendant gave us the run down about breakfast times and things to do in town. The rooms were all spacious and very clean. The views from the rooms are all fantastic, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The breakfasts are eggs, bacon, fresh baked goods, yogurt, sandwich meats, toast, and cereal buffet. Pretty good. Also coffee. They make terrific espresso drinks all day long. The restaurant downstairs has an excellent menu for lunch and dinner. The chef frequently comes out to speak with the customers and that dude can cook! The hotel is located central to everything in town. There's lots of places to eat within walking distance. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach side of town. It's also right at the base of the hill which has amazing views during sunrise and sunset. I highly recommend staying at the Hotel Gajeta when visiting Gaeta.
